Point recapture allows you to continue earning points by retrying questions you've missed. Point recapture primarily happens in the Study Path so that you can identify and reflect on the learning objectives and topics associated with questions you missed. When and How You Can Recapture Points
For Preclass assignments:
Simply continue attempting questions in the Preclass assignment until you answer them correctly. You can return to the Preclass assignment later and continue to attempt missed questions as long as it is BEFORE the due date.
You can review Preclass questions in the Study Path alongside related Homework, Prep, and Practice Test questions.
For Homework assignments:
After you miss a question twice, you must move on to the next question. Click “Next” to do so.
Complete the assignment by attempting each question at least once. Questions from an assignment do not load in the Study Path until you have attempted every question in the assignment.
Head to the Study Path to retry questions answered incorrectly in order to recapture points. Point recapture is available up until the assignment due date.
Topics with questions answered incorrectly will sort into Checkpoint 1 ("I Should Review"). If point recapture is still available (because the assignment due date has not passed), you will see the star icon.
Expand topic cards that have the star icon and look for questions with the star icon (see the screen capture below). Click on that question to open it and try it again. If you answer it correctly, you can recapture points. The number of points that you can recapture depends on the grading policy selected by your instructor. For example, if your instructor selected the grading policy “Earn 100% points for answering a question correctly on the first attempt, 90% points on the second attempt, 80% on the third attempt, etc.” and you answered a 1-point question correctly on your third attempt, you would recapture 0.9 points. How to Know Which Questions Have Points Left to Recapture
Keep an eye out for this star symbol. It means that you have the opportunity to recapture some points after you finish the assignment as long as you do it BEFORE the due date. See images below to note where to find questions to recapture points
