How to complete a Readiness Reading assignment

Created by Erin Vinson, Modified on Fri, 20 Feb at 3:47 PM by Erin Vinson

Readiness Readings are designed to provide you with information on a given topic, along with check-in questions that you can complete as you read. Completing a Readiness Reading is done in a similar way to completing a homework or pre-class assignment, with a few differences.

You must mark each item Muddy or Clear and click submit

Most Readiness Reading items have questions along with them, so that you read a little and answer a couple questions. However, some Readiness Reading items only contain text and do not have any questions. It's important to note that whether a Readiness Reading item has questions or not, you always need to mark an item as Muddy or Clear. Example of a Readiness Reading item without questions is below. Don't forget to mark Muddy or Clear so that you can submit the item as completed. Without clicking Muddy or Clear, you will not be able to submit the item.

Reviewing Readiness Readings in the Study Path

Readiness Readings show up in the Study Path as "readings" for each topic. To view the readings for a given topic in the Study Path, simply click on "Review readings" in the bottom right-hand corner of the topic card in the Study Path or on the text under the topic name that says "Flip this card to review readings."

The topic card will flip over and you will be able to easily access every item in the Readiness Reading, as well as recognize quickly which items you marked as muddy (indicated by a pig icon). To go back to the question side of the topic card, click "Retry Questions" on the bottom right-hand corner of the topic card.
