Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) strategies that help you learn include:

  • Spacing: Practicing questions several days before a test helps you spread out the opportunities to understand and remember information over time. Visit the Codon Learning Study Path regularly to space your study sessions.
  • Self-testing: Answering questions to test your understanding helps get that information in your memory and make it easier to remember. In the Codon platform you can retrying homework or preclass questions, answer new prep questions related to each learning objective, and complete a practice test.
  • Monitoring: Keeping track of what you do and do not know helps you realize what topics or concepts you need to focus on to study efficiently. Use the Codon Learning Study Path to monitor your progress on topics and learning objectives.

Research shows that people who implement SRL strategies tend to improve their learning and overall performance in a class (Pintrich & De Groot, 1990). Click here to learn more about SRL.
