You may want to add external links for students to access your in-class materials, such as class slides, worksheets, datasets, etc. This article includes:
- Steps for adding in-class material links to your course by class day
- How in-class materials appear to students
- Links to learning resources that are provided by several Codon Learning courses
Steps for adding in-class materials
1. Go to the class day you wish to add an in-class material link.
2. Find the "In-Class Materials" section for the class and click the yellow "+ Add" button to the right.
3. A new window will open and you can fill in the following:
- the class day(s) you want the link for this particular in-class material to show up on (Class 4 in the example below)
- a title for this in-class material (such as "Nucleic Acids slides")
- the URL for this link
- click Add In-Class Material
Pro tip: You can also add new Pre-class Resources from this window by clicking the radio button above "Select Class Session."
4. Now you will see the in-class material you just added in the list of all in-class materials assigned for this course, under "Current In-class Materials." You can always return to this window to add, edit, or delete in-class materials.
How In-Class Materials appear for students
To view what your students will see, click "Go to Student View" in your course and click on the class day.
Students will see Class Materials added for each class day (example for Class 4 Nucleic Acids below). If you do not add Class Materials for a specific day, students will not see a box at all for Class Materials.
Learning Resources for Codon Learning Courses
Several Codon Learning courses have curated lists by topic (along with learning objectives) that include both learning resource links (typically open educational resources) and in-class activities.
