I'm trying to log in using my username and password. Why isn't it working?

The majority of Codon Learning courses link to the Learning Management System or LMS (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, D2L / Brightspace, Moodle). When a course is linked to an LMS, instead of using a username and password, we authenticate your login with information passed from your LMS when you launch using the Codon Learning link.

We recommend referring back to the instructions for Codon originally provided by your instructor:

  • If the instructions say to click a link in the LMS, go the course page in your LMS and click on the link for Codon Learning. You should close any other tabs where you have Codon open.

  • If the instructions say to visit https://app.codonlearning.com/, then you should either have a password or be able to reset your password.

I submitted a reset password request. Why haven't I received an email?

The most common reason this happens is because your email address is not associated with an account in our system. Why might this be?

1. You need to launch Codon Learning through your LMS - see above. If this fails, or your instructor tells you to access Codon Learning directly by going to https://app.codonlearning.com/, see numbers 2-4 below for other solutions.

2. If you have multiple email addresses, your Codon account might be associated with a different email address. For example, some schools provide two versions of the same email address (alexa.clemmons@codon.edu and acl123@codon.edu). If you think this could be the case, try resetting your password with one of your other email addresses.

2. The email address you enter for the password reset request is NOT case sensitive, but it is sensitive to typos. Try submitting the request one more time, paying attention to spelling and formatting.

3. If you've added this course after the first day, you may not have been on the initial roster provided by your instructor. We can add you! Simply send an email to support@codonlearning.com with the following information: your email address, first and last name, the name of your instructor, and the name of your course. If the course has multiple sections, it can also be helpful to provide your section.

Codon logged me out and I can't figure out how to log back in.

Auto-logout is an important part of our security and quality assurance approach. If upon auto-logout you're taken to a screen that lacks the ability to log back in, it's because your course is associated with a Learning Management System (LMS).

In that case, you should close the browser window with Codon and re-open your LMS. This is because we authenticate your login through information passed from your LMS.
