How to extend a due date or late date for the entire class

Instructors can extend a due date or late date for all assignments, including the Study Path.

Due dates

Before the due date has passed:

Go to the assignment for which you wish to extend the due date. Simply change the due date to the new date and time. Keep in mind that if you have a late policy date, you may need to change it as well.

After the due date has passed:

Same as above, except student attempts on questions completed after the due date will then be graded (if attempts were made before the new due date).

Late dates

  • You can change the late date anytime, whether the due date (or late date) has passed or not and whether students have started the assignment or not.
  • The new late date must be in the future.
  • Once students have started an assignment, you can only change the percent deduction of points if the due date has not yet passed.

How to extend a due date for an individual

  • Go to the assignment for which you wish to give a student a due date accommodation. Navigate to the "Due Date Accommodations" tab.
  • From here, you can select the name of the student(s) you want to give a due date accommodation. Scroll to find the name, or start typing in the box to narrow down the list.
  • Select the due date for the accommodation and click Save.
